I believe all writing assignments are unique and have their own specific context. I find effective writing and translation to be a bit like doing detective work: reading between the lines of what a language implies or what an interviewee says. I always consider all linguistic possibilities to ensure maximum fluidity before making final decisions.
As part of my writing process, I never submit an assignment until I have taken a break and come back to it with fresh eyes. Inevitably, I always find a better translation and/or overall fluidity for the assignment this way. This “marinating time” is already calculated into my turnaround time estimates, and I aim to have documents ready within 48 hours.*
I also do not hesitate to do my own thorough research on the topic(s) and contact my clients in advance to ensure I understand all possible implied context of the original language before submitting my final work.
*for longer documents, this estimate may vary
